The Passing of Time

When I was a child, one of the things I remember the most is how time seemed to stand still. The school year seemed never-ending, and the time it took to reach my next birthday was an eternity away. It seemed I would never reach adulthood! I drove my poor parents crazy wishing I were older and wanting to do all the great things that older people got to do. This was made especially worse because I had three older siblings who were much older than I, and were allowed all the privileges I did not yet possess.

As the years went by, I discovered an amazing thing. Time had started flying by! I watched as my children were born, and then I blinked. Suddenly they were adults with children of their own. Life was soaring by at record-breaking speed. While it was exciting to watch all these life events occur around me, it made me realize how fast our lives pass, and how important it is to be happy.

Life is short and how we fill our days is so very important. The choices we make every day impact the quality of our existence.

Life is precious and is but a vapor. Make every moment count because we can’t slow down the ticking clock.
