Brookhaven Retreat's Program Counselors perform a direct care role and are responsible for performing a wide variety of client care activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for client safety and care under the direction of the nursing staff and Program Director.
  • Maintain quality of care through personal connection and one-on-one service to clients.
  • Orient new clients and represent the program by providing comfort and guidance during first 72 hours of client’s stay.
  • Ensure client understanding and completion of projects as assigned by primary therapists.
  • Conduct experiential groups aimed at creating life-skills, functionality, independence and wellness in women.
  • Ensure clients attend therapy and experiential groups throughout the day.
  • Perform room checks, accompaniment to hospital of clients in a medical emergency and assistance with household duties.
  • Document client status daily in Program Counselor shift report.
  • Ensure client safety through regular and precautionary checks on each client.

  • Education and Experience
    Master's degree in social work, psychology or other human relations field.
    Two years work experience in substance abuse and/or mental health preferred.

    Licensure/Certification Desired
    F-endorsement on current driver’s license is required.

    Skills and Abilities
    Ability to listen to and soothe clients.
    Knowledge of state and federal statutes regarding patient confidentiality laws.
    Proficient in written and verbal communication skills.
    Ability to excel in a direct care role caring for women with complex mental health and substance abuse issues.

    Full-time, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or weekends 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Friday through Monday.

    The Weekend Program Manager will manage facility clients and staff including nurses and program counselors, and ensure the smooth operation of the weekend program.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the program’s milieu during the weekend and ensuring stability of the community.
  • Ability to provide structured client support and guide women to think through life aims and goals for treatment.
  • Manage program counselors and ensure smooth operation of the weekend life-skills program.
  • Coordinate educational groups (lectures/videos/discussions) effectively.
  • Co-facilitate group education sessions in a manner that creates an atmosphere in which women gain life skills and identify problem areas that may affect treatment and/or need to be addressed in treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with treatment team to ensure client and facility safety.
  • Understand and apply the facility’s clinical philosophy.
  • Maximize staff-team effectiveness.

  • Requirements:
    A motivator with strong managerial experience and ability to drive business, who is comfortable aiding and guiding women with complex mental health and substance abuse issues to maximize their personal potential.

    Education and Experience
    Masters Degree in mental health, social work, psychology or related human service field.
    10 years of work experience in mental health or life coaching preferred.

    Licensure/Certification Desired
    Licensure to practice clinical discipline in Tennessee, required in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health counselor and/or Certified Addiction Professional.

    Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills

    LPC, LMFT or LCSW in the state of TN with at least 10 years experience is required. A Ph.D. is preferred.

    Job Requirements
    Successful candidates for the Account Executive sales role are driven to succeed, have a positive attitude, are able to build relationships quickly over the phone and enjoy working with people. Someone who is self-motivated with a strong professional demeanor would excel in this sales role.

    Additional requirements of the Account Executive sales role include:

    A Primary Therapist is needed to provide mental health/substance abuse/co-occurring assessments, crisis management and psychotherapeutic interventions to the women residing at Brookhaven Retreat.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete diagnostic assessments and mental status examinations and work with staff to translate this information into practical, multidisciplinary treatment plans
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions daily
  • Complete high quality, timely charting and treatment plans according to agency policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with families, outside treaters, etc. to assure their integration into the treatment planning process, as indicated

  • Education and Experience
    Master's degree in mental health, social work, psychology or related human service field required. Ph.D. or LCSW preferred.
    Three years experience in a co-occurring/psychiatric setting
    Training and experience in comprehensive assessments and crisis intervention in residential settings is preferred
    Experience working in gender specific female-settings is preferred

    Licensure/Certification Desired
    Licensure to practice clinical discipline in Tennessee, required in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health counselor and/or Certified Addiction Professional.

    Skills and Abilities
    Experienced and comfortable working with women suffering from complex grief, PTSD, major depression, borderline personality disorder, mood disorders, substance abuse and addiction issues
