Brookhaven Retreat is excited to announce that it has set the date for its 2015 annual alumnae reunion. The event will take place on March 21, 2015 in Maryville, Tenn. This annual reunion is part of an extensive aftercare program available to all alumnae, and is a vital component of life after residential treatment.
Brookhaven Retreat’s aftercare program provides lasting support that encourages success and health following a woman’s return home. It involves comprehensive pre-discharge planning, weekly conference calls, recommended reading, an interactive website and discussion forum, and each year all alumnae are welcomed to attend the alumnae retreat and conference.
During inpatient care, women receive an individualized treatment map designed to create and maintain a healthy life after discharge. With the help of a primary therapist, women address every area of her life to facilitate her path to reach health and wellness. When a woman is supported and prepared during the transition home, she feels balanced and whole, strengthening their mental health and preventing the possibility of relapse.
After discharge, women are encouraged to visit Brookhaven Retreat, strengthen the bonds they created during treatment and encourage others who are going through the same ups and downs. Brookhaven Retreat’s alumnae reunion is an opportunity for women to share stories about recovery, reconnect with friends, and show how they have blossomed following treatment.
Brookhaven Retreat is a walk for life, and is often just the beginning of a woman’s road to recovery. Through its comprehensive aftercare program, women recovering from mental health and substance abuse issues have a lifelong support system that encourages lasting wellness. Each year, staff and alumnae alike look forward to the open discussions, unique topics and lasting memories made at the alumnae reunion.
