Each December Worldwide Food Service Safety Month, an international awareness campaign, seeks to ensure individuals in the food service industry are safe and successful. With the completion of their ServSafe® recertification in November, Brookhaven Retreat’s Culinary Artists and Licensed Dietician have received this achievement just in time for Worldwide Food Service Safety Month!
The ServSafe® program provides food safety training, exams and educational materials to foodservice workers. The program blends the latest FDA Food Code, food safety research and years of food sanitation training experience. Students learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a culture of food safety, then earn certifications, accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-Conference for Food Protection (CFP). All content and materials are based on actual job tasks identified by foodservice industry experts.
ServSafe® is the only food safety program with roots in the foodservice industry. Certification through the program better equips Brookhaven Retreat’s staff to protect our clients’ health, improve employee performance and preserve business reputation.
