Activities

 
  • The fire pit at Brookhaven Retreat not only serves as a place for social activities but also provides an opportunity for a sense of closure.
  • Brookhaven Retreat has areas for multiple activities, including badminton, gazebos for contemplation and journaling, and walking trails.
  • Clients at Brookhaven Retreat are encouraged to identify leisure activities that they will continue as a means of healthy living upon discharge.
  • Brookhaven Retreat offers equine assisted psychotherapy (EAP) as part of our addiction and emotional wellness treatment program.
  • Team sports including sand Volleyball and Badminton are offered at Brookhaven Retreat.
  • Weekend experiences at Brookhaven Retreat include extreme self care. Self-care is about putting yourself first on your list. It is about expanding yourself by doing what you need and want to do to be healthy and happy in all areas of your life.
  • At Brookhaven Retreat’s on-site Low-Elements Ropes Course, clients will have the opportunity to practice problem solving, communication, develop trust in others and export your mental and physical capabilities.
  • Creative expression at Brookhaven Retreat is used to improve and enhance your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Therapist. The creative process will help a client use non-verbal media to express emotion, achieve personal insight, and increase self-esteem and self-awareness.
  • Brookhaven Retreat offers therapeutic outings. A group will visit a wide variety of places which vary from season to season, including th e Zoo, the petting farm, the Great Smoky Mountains, galleries, and others. Outings are designed for the client to experience a wide range of leisure and daily activities as a clean, sober and healthy individual.
  • Clients at Brookhaven Retreat will have time weekly to play and have fun with the other women and possibly even your own family members. Clients will be exposed to many different types of recreation and leisure experiences in order to help express, develop and maintain a healthy leisure lifestyle after a client leaves Brookhaven Retreat.
  • Music & Movement is offered at Brookhaven Retreat from drumming to zumba.
  • Health and wellness is discussed in a core group at Brookhaven Retreat including how substance abuse, depression, and other emotional issues affect our nutritional status. Other topics include emotional and intuitive eating, healthy
