Beet Renewal Juice

Monday, 06 January 2014 22:04  by Jessica W.

Health and wellness starts from the inside out. Our perceptions shape our behaviors, and positive perceptions are the first step to creating the attitudes and habits that sustain mental health. So, wellness begins with an affirmation of self-worth and a conscious decision to be better to oneself.

Once we are willing to value ourselves, everything we do becomes an affirmation of that choice – everything - the activities and friends we choose to the meals we nourish ourselves with affects our wellness.

Brookhaven Retreat’s biweekly juicing focuses on creating positive attitudes and healthy habits. Several times, the women in its residential treatment program have enjoyed variations of beet juice.

A common juicing ingredient, beets are high in many vitamins and minerals that are beneficial for renewing the body, especially folate, manganese, fiber, potassium, vitamin C and magnesium.

This Beet Renewal Juice cleanses the body and promotes optimal health. It is not only anti-inflammatory and full of antioxidants, it tastes delicious too! The sweetness of beets is well complemented by tasty apples, tangy lemon and spicy ginger. Your body and mind will thank you for the increased energy and positive intentions!

Beet Renewal Juice: Makes 2-3 servings

  • 6 carrots
  • 4 apples
  • 4 celery stalks
  • 2 medium raw beets, peeled
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 inch knob ginger

Juice all of the ingredients and enjoy! It is best to wait an hour before eating afterward so that your body can receive the most nutrients from the juice.
